Update on the 2nd EASTS Early Career Researcher (Virtual) Forum, 10-11 September 2021

Warm greetings from the EASTS ECR Forum Organising Committee! We would like to ask for your kind assistance in publishing the following Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) on the EASTS website and the local EASTS 2021 conference website. Here is the message:

The Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS) conference brings together professionals, early career researchers (ECRs), and Research Higher Degree (RHD) students who are not only eager to meet and hear from fellow scholars and professionals in the transportation industry but are also keen to share their excellent work and experiences on transportation research.

EASTS along with the Women in Transport Leadership (WITL) Knowledge Network would like to invite RHD students and ECRs in the field of Transportation to come together to attend the 2nd EASTS ECR Forum.

The theme of the ECR Forum is “Shaping more resilient transport professionals in the new normal and beyond”.

Specifically, the ECR Forum aims to (1) strengthen the research skills of students and ECRs through knowledge-sharing with academics, particularly on conducting and publishing research in Transportation amidst the current situation, (2) facilitate discussions among students, ECRs, and industry leaders, particularly on the opportunities and challenges for future professional development, and (3) provide opportunities to establish networks and linkages among fellow transportation researchers and professionals in the region.

The Forum aims to provide an inclusive platform to the broader research community. We highly encourage PhD students in the late stages of their research candidature (2nd, 3rd year, or over), or early career researchers (maximum of 5 years post-PhD), and women to apply. We are interested in the participation of researchers who research Global South or Asia-specific transport research topics.

This ECR Forum will be held online via Zoom, on 10-11 September 2021. It is free to registered participants.

If you are interested to attend this ECR Forum, please complete the online Expression of Interest form HERE by 11 August 2021. Selected participants will be notified of the finalised program by 31 August 2021.
