Conference Report
|
The EASTS holds international biennial conferences aimed at fostering excellent
transportation research and practice. The interchange of knowledge in all
aspects and mode of transportation that takes place at these conferences
is valuable in upgrading and expanding the pool of experts who are expected
to formulate and implement transportation development programs in the region.
The society already held five successful conferences in different member countries. Since the historical conference in Manila (1995), followed by conferences held in Seoul (1997), then Taipei (1999), then Hanoi (2002), until the latest one in Fukuoka (2003), there had been a total of more than 1,000 reviewed and non-reviewed papers published in the EASTS Journal and EASTS Proceedings. All abstract and paper submittals underwent strict selection procedure by the International Scientific Committee (ISC).
Details of the four conferences are summarized below.
