In the last EASTS Board Meeting at Yogyakarta, Indonesia (Dec. 12th 2006), EASTS decided to join the efforts for the recovery of Yogyakarta from the unfortunate earthquake in May 2006, and make a contribution by providing the monetary donation. The donation from EASTS and the participants in Board Meeting was transferred to Indonesian Transport Society (ITS). On behalf of the EASTS, ITS is entrusted to develop a multi-purpose public place for library, public meeting, social and cultural performance etc in Derman village of Bambanglipuro District, Bantul Regency. For the development, ITS would cooperate with the student body of Gadjah Mada University for Community Service and the residents of Derman Village. It is expected that the development will be completed by the end of March 2007.

The donation was passed to Dr. Danang Parikesit, Secretary General of ITS, from Dr. Haruo Ishida, Treasurer of EASTS.
