Dear EASTS members,

KOTI (The Korea Transport Institute) and EASTS (Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies) jointly held "KOTI-EASTS International seminar on Urban Logistics System in East Asia" on January 22, 2016 in Seoul, Korea.

In the symposium, current situation and issues on urban logistics were presented by the delegates from Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan and the philippines. Following the presentations, open discussion was heated in a wide range of subjects of urban logistics. The discussion highlighted differences of situation, environment, issues, available data and survey quality among the countries as well as the need for future research works.

The seminar also summarized the second EASTS SRP (Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies - Special Research Project), titled as "Building Sustainable Urban Logistics Systems in East Asia", which was started from a special session in EASTS 2015 in Cebu.

The EASTS appreciates all KOTI has provided as the precious research opportunity and financial support through the project, which . It sustains EASTS activities as well.
