About the EASTS

The society is composed of fifteen countries/regions found in the eastern part of Asia. The EASTS serves as an umbrella organization of transportations science societies of the different member countries/regions with the primary objective of fostering and supporting excellence in transportation research and practice and to stimulate professional interchange in all aspects and modes of transportation.

Message from the President

Conferences

Every two years, the society holds a conference. The last event was held in Fukuoka, Japan from October 29 to November 1. The conference serves as a venue to interchange knowledge in all aspects and mode of transportation. This is valuable in upgrading and expanding the pool of experts who are expected to formulate and implement transportation development programs.

Publications

Most of the newsletters can be viewed to see the developments going on into the society. The published journals and proceedings during the past conferences can also be purchased.

How to get EASTS' sponsorship

Domestic Society

New additon to the family of EASTS is the Society of Transportation and Logistics Studies (CCTA) of China. Presently, the Society is composed of fifteen socities committed in promoting academic and/ or  scientific activities in respective region.

International Cooperative Research Activity

This grant is offered to groups of researchers involved in transportation and related fields. The purpose of the ICRA is to promote the research activities of the EASTS by encouraging international cooperative research.

Best Domestic Society Award

This contest is aimed to reward the domestic society who exerts the most effort to promote transportation research through journals, seminars, conferences and short courses.

Best Transportation Landmark Photo Contest

This contest is aimed to showcase both the uniqueness and the beauty of transportation in the region. The criteria of selection may be composed of its theme, catchy phrase, comment, quality of photo, composition and overall beauty.

Outstanding Transportation Project Award

Transportation infrastructure has a tremendous impact to the society. Join the OTPA contest and let us know the impact, unique method of construction and the uniqueness of the project in your country/region.
