Dear EASTS Regular Memebers:

We are pleased to announce that the Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS) was provided 35 million KRW (Korean Won) by the Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) as a financial support for FY2010. This fund, approx $31,000 as of March 8, 2011, will be utilized for all of the activities of EASTS including financial support for young researchers, funding for international cooperative researches and organizing international conference/seminars/meetings.

It was promised by two documents which are a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concluded on June 9, 2010, and also Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on August 27, 2010. The MOU convinced that both organizations endeavor to promote academic exchange and joint research activities. The MOA, based on the MOU, explained that KOTI will provide financial support of 35 million KRW for 2010, and will make an effort to provide financial support from FY2011 for future continuous prosperity of the society.
